Long shot
A long shot allows the entire scene to be shown. In our music video, we could potentially use this shot during our location scenes of Brigg and the surronding areas.
Medium Long Shot
A medium long shot shows the entire body of the artist. One scene where we could use this is the scene of the artist in the toilet looking in the mirror. This allows the audience to see his body language and could promote a new fashion trend depending on what he is wearing. This could influence younger members of our audience.
Medium Shot and Close Up
A medium shot shows the artist from the waist up. Most of our scenes will consist of this shot and close ups. Close ups are when the camera just shows the head and neck of the artist.
One Shot and Two Shot
These are two shots we will definitely be using in our video. A one shot will be used for all shots that include the artist singing into the camera apart from the shot which the lyrics "Looking in the mirror through your eyes, Nothing makes sense, these tears won't dry" are sung and the idea that the artist walks over to a patch so they are left of frame. They look to there left and someone is stood there in old, torn or dirty clothes as if they were childhood friend but had to go back to their country after a disaster had happened or war had finished.
Pan
A pan is the movement of a camera in a rotating motion. This will be a good shot to use especially to convey emotion and scanning of a location
We have found that a dolly in/out would not be possible as we don't have the equipment in order to do so.
Head on
This is a shot that will again be used regularly in our music video. It consists of the artist walking straight at the camera.
Editing Techniques
Cut
A cut is where there is a change of scenery. In our video, cuts will happen on the beat of the music.
Continuity editing
Hopefully we can establish the linking of shots within our video.
Fade/Dissolve
This is a possibility for our video as we could include this as the scenes cut.
Long Take
A long take is where a single shot lasts for a long period of time.
