The front cover adheres to conventions because a close up picture of the artist is used. This adheres to conventions because you can clearly see the artist face which is a good promotional aspect. The front cover doesn't adhere to conventions because the album title is bigger than the artist name. This also suggests that because he is already an established artist he doesn't need his name to be bigger as people already know him. However, it is plain which is more likely to grab peoples attention.
Back Cover
The picture on the pack cover shows Justin holding a guitar. For this album, this is his brand identity. Playing an acoustic guitar will appeal more to his fans as it is like "stripping back" the artist. The writing of the track list is hard to see as it is in a faint colour that doesn't stand out against the background. It adheres to conventions as a bar code and institutional detail is placed on the back cover which is where you would conventionally find them.
Inside Covers
The inside covers include 3 pictures of the artist and the other shows the album title. This is a good promotional aspect for the artist and creates synergy with the rest of the digipak. It does this by Justin being in the same costume and the colour scheme matching.
How this has influenced my creativity and planning
- I need the make the artists name as big as the song title as my artist isn't already established
- I need to pick colours that will stand out for my colour scheme so that things do not blend in or are not easily seen
- I defiantly need a spine, as it is conventional and include detail that does not necessarily need to be on the back of my digipak like the institutional detail.
